5 Flattering Poses for Couples

It’s one thing to have physical memories of your special day but it’s a whole other thing to make sure those photos do you justice! There are two combinations for making sure that you’d love to look back on them and share them with everyone— simply, a dang good photographer and your overall confidence with your poses!

Bring your A Game at your photoshoot and back up that confidence with these 5 tips and poses for those flattering photos!

1.)SIDES MATTER

Definitely don’t be shy when telling the photographer which side you prefer more. It’s important to start with sides you favour as being comfortable definitely shows on film. If you both have the same preferred side, don’t worry, as photographers faced similar situations before and have their own ways of reaching a compromise.

2.) WALK IT OUT

When the photographer tells you to walk, take this opportunity to loosen up. Hold each other’s hands and look at each other lovingly, almost as if conveying through body language that you’re in this together! Smile, say something funny… all while walking naturally hand in hand.

3.) THE EMBRACE

We love embrace shots where one’s kissing and the other is looking at the camera but this pose can easily turn unflattering so make sure you get your angles right. Try to avoid your forehead being kissed (especially when standing up) as this can result in you at an awkward pose and your face crunched up under his lips (hello, double chin!) Instead, make him kiss the side of your face— either your cheek or next to your eyes while you're smiling at the camera.

4.) SHOW THAT BLING

AKA the hand on the chest shot — show off that ring, girl! Gently lay your ring hand on his chest  and look at each other for a natural feel. Always remember to angle both your bodies to each other and not at the camera as you want to make that ring pop, it’s the star of this shot!

To make it even more natural, your man can gently press his hand on your back bringing you in closer (he can also sneak in a kiss!)

5.) THE EMBRACE 2.0

A lot of brides make the mistake of hiding their whole body while embracing their man from behind; this can look very unflattering for your man and generally awkward. You can still lovingly hug your man from the back but instead, make sure the angle is sideways— this way both of your bodies are angled away from the camera while simultaneously equally showing your tender smiles.
