4 Key Considerations When Choosing Your Bridal Jewellery

It’s easy to think that you can’t go wrong with jewellery… they’re beautiful, elegant, and timeless all on their own but with the wrong pairing, they can easily lose their charm. Here are four details to help you choose the best combination for your bridal look.

1.) Neckline

This, along with the next detail, is why you should plan your jewellery at the same time as your dress. There were times that brides fell in love with a certain piece only to find out later that it doesn’t go well with their gown or that they’ve run out of time so they just pile on any expensive jewellery only to look tacky. Avoid the heartbreak by simply working with the two in unison. The general rule is, bold and or long necklaces work best with necklines that are a bit low such as v-necks or sweethearts. For the higher necklines such as one shoulders, bateau, or halters, statement earrings usually stand out more than a necklace.

2.) Metals

Again, knowing the colour of your gown will greatly help in enhancing your jewellery. For ivory or cream gowns, warmer tones usually work best such as gold. For pure white, silver pieces pop more. For blush, rose gold complements it best and for champagne, warmer tones work as well and will complement is light beige hue.

3.) Balancing Earrings & Necklaces

Don’t be limited to wearing only your wedding ring as your bridal jewelry. If you want to wear big statement earrings, it’s best to tone down the necklace or wear a matching one. If you’re planning on focusing on an elaborate necklace, then try pairing it with stud earrings instead of dangling ones.

4.) Most of all, you do you!

And most importantly, always choose jewellery you’re most comfortable in! Always listen to your gut and don’t give in to peer pressure or trends.  If you like it, then why not but if you feel it’s really not you then just leave it and go with your style. You do you!
