Wedding parties are extremely fun, you’re surrounded by friends and family that for some, you barely even see often! Although, once the drinking starts, you can get caught up in the fun that you barely notice your alcohol intake. Whether you’re the bride, the groom, part of the entourage, or a guest, here are a few tips to keep you sober enough to last throughout the night!

1. STOCK UP

The moment hors d’oeuvre are being served, don’t be shy, have a bite or two! You’d want to stock up on food and water before you start with the alcohol because being dehydrated with an empty stomach will you get drunk real quick!

2. PACING

Anticipate friends and or family who will continuously offer shots or glasses of wine throughout the night… you can politely refuse but there are times wherein you just have to accept once or twice. All you need is good pacing by making sure to drink water in between the alcoholic drinks. You’d want to enjoy the night rather than forgetting all about it in the morning after.

3. MIXING IT UP? Yes or No?

Try to avoid mixing types of alcohol. For some, it can lead to feeling bloated and getting drunk faster. You can switch it up but pace it well, if you start with wine keep at it until you want to switch to vodka, etc. Try not to go back and forth and you’ll be okay!

4. MOBILE BARS ARE YOUR FRIENDS

Yes plural… BARS. You might think this is crazy but for the newlyweds, hear us out. Having more than one station for drinks doesn’t necessarily encourage more drinking but it helps guests spread out. From past experiences, parties that only have one bar tend to encourage guests to order more than one drink as they want to avoid lining up again. Having more stations avoids these lines and hoarding of drinks!

And for the guests, slow down! No lines means you can have a new and ice cold drink every time!
