WHAT TO DO WHEN SHE SAYS YES : HOW TO GET STARTED ON WEDDING PLANNING FOR GROOMS

By Gaile Carreon

The best feeling in the world is to hear that sweet "I do" from your girlfriend when you propose to her. Seeing her wear that engagement ring gives you nothing but complete happiness. The next stage is to start wedding planning with your bride. Here are a few tips to get started on planning for your big day.

1) Talk things out with your fiancée.

Before everything can come into place, you should make a wedding game plan with your bride. You and your bride may have different visions for your wedding so be open and talk to each other about how your wedding will be like. It's good to agree on the basic stuff like the venue, the entourage, and the motif to get your wedding planning going. Having a good foundation can ensure your wedding will be a success.

2) Do your research on wedding suppliers

First things first, you need suppliers for your wedding. Buy some wedding magazines and search the internet. It's usually easy to do this, but you are going to need to consider the location where you want to get married because some suppliers can only go so far with the venue.

3)  Plan out your schedule

Meeting up with wedding suppliers means taking trips to their offices. Mark out dates on your calendars to ensure these trips don't interfere with work and with other family festivities. Don't forget to mark dates for meetings with your wedding coordinators too.

4) Save up for the big day

It doesn't matter if you want to go for a simple or extravagant wedding, saving up is a must. When it comes to booking wedding suppliers, they usually require you to pay a downpayment, so it's important to have money some money saved to be able to do that.

5) Ask your married friends and family on what it's like

Get yourself mentally prepared by talking to your married friends and family. Since they've been through the process of wedding planning, they will be able to share with you advice and tips you may need. Remember to ask for help when it comes to caring for yourself and your bride to ensure you both are okay amidst all the arrangements.

6) Look out for a bridal fair
